Contractors & construction

Get paid faster. Pay subs and suppliers for less.

Construction runs on thin margins and slow money. Stablecoins like USDC can cut the wait on checks and the cost of wires, without changing how you bid, bill or build.

Getting paid faster

Send an invoice with a USDC payment link. When your customer pays, funds settle in your Coinbase Business account in seconds, any day of the week, and can convert automatically to dollars in your bank.

  • No waiting on checks in the mail or deposit holds
  • Payments are final, with no card chargebacks
  • Each payment ties back to the invoice for your bookkeeper
  • Keep checks and ACH for customers who prefer them

Paying subs and suppliers

Pay subcontractors and suppliers in USDC on Base, including after hours and on weekends, typically for a few cents in network fees instead of wire fees.

  • Approval rules so the right person signs off
  • Spending limits and a written payment policy
  • Small test payments before you send anything large
  • Records your CPA can reconcile

Contractor questions

Will my customers know how to pay in USDC?

Many won't at first, and that's fine. USDC is an option alongside checks and ACH. Customers who already use it can pay from any compatible wallet, and on Base they typically don't need extra tokens to cover network fees.

Can my subs get paid in dollars?

Yes. A sub with their own Coinbase account (or similar) can receive USDC and convert it to dollars in their bank. We'll help you set up a simple process for subs who want it.

What about lien waivers and pay apps?

Your paperwork doesn't change. USDC is just the payment rail. We'll make sure each payment carries a reference you can tie to the invoice, pay app or waiver.

What does it cost to send a payment on Base?

Network fees on Base are usually a few cents or less, though they vary. Platform conversion fees are separate and shown in your account.
